Product recall alerts for the things you own.

Scan a barcode once and Recalls Watch checks it against official recall notices from Canada and the United States every day. If something on your list is recalled — undeclared peanuts, listeria, a battery that can catch fire — you get a push notification instead of hearing about it weeks later.

How it works

1. Scan

Point your camera at any product barcode.

2. Add

The product goes on your Watch List and stays there.

3. Get notified

If a recall is issued for that product, we alert you.

Don’t have the package in hand? Save a keyword watch instead — “Kroger Eggs”, “Panasonic FlashXpress Oven”, “Graco SnugRide” — and you’ll still be alerted if that product is recalled.

What you get

  • Watch List — the products you own, with recall status at a glance.
  • Barcode scanning — add a product in seconds.
  • Keyword watch — track products by name when there is no barcode to scan.
  • Daily checks — your list is matched against new recalls every day.
  • Push notifications — a recall alert the moment something you own is affected.
  • Recall details — what was recalled, the issue, the date, and the action to take.
  • In-store lookup — scan or search before you buy and see whether a product already has a recall history.
  • No sign-up — start scanning straight away, or link your Google account to keep your Watch List on every device.

Coverage

Recalls from Health Canada, US FDA and CPSC — plus direct retailer recalls and notices (eg Costco). More regions are coming.

Camera processing stays on your device. Only the detected barcode number is sent to look up recalls. Your Watch List is private to your account.

Recalls Watch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. Always confirm details with the official recall notice before acting.
